It wasn't loud, but it hummed beneath his skin, a vibration telling him he belonged here, with them. Jake was ahead, checking the horizon, while Oy trotted beside Roland's worn boots. They were scattered across worlds yet pulled tight by an invisible string. Eddie took a breath of the dry air and stepped forward, knowing this step was not really his choice at all.
